Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
In Ontario Waterpower Association's recent Workforce Insights survey, 87% of respondents indicated their organization has an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion policy in place. However, the 2022 Ear to the River survey indicated that a majority of the U.S. industry had not conducted training and did not have EDI initiatives in place. To better compare to the OWA survey, we asked the following question of NHA member companies:

These results were more encouraging than the 2022 survey, but it appears that U.S. hydro owners are behind Ontario hydro owners in establishing EDI policies.
To help with that, NHA is joining with the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), the American Clean Power Association (ACP), the Clean Energy Buyers Association (CEBA), and Renewables Forward in a partnership to develop and launch in 2024 a DEI Framework Project specifically for organizations working in the clean energy industry.
